Hubert Rogers, Jr.

Hubert Rogers Jr. was born on Monday, December 23, 1946, in Austin, Texas. He was one of five children born to the late Hubert Rogers Sr. and Zelma (Shields) Rogers. To those who knew and loved him, he was affectionately known as Daddy, Papa, PawPaw, Uncle Hubert, Poor Huey, and Elroy.

At an early age, he confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized at Bethel Union Baptist Church in Giddings, Texas. He graduated from Northwest High School in Giddings, Texas, on May 26, 1965, and soon began his career working alongside his father in highway construction.

Hubert moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked in various fields, including construction and roofing. He also spent several years as a truck driver. He later returned to his hometown of Giddings, Texas, where he became a dedicated employee at the Giddings State School, working faithfully until his retirement.

In 1974, while living in Houston, Texas, Hubert met LeeAnna Jones. They soon united in marriage and shared over 50 years of love and devotion together. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His personality was that of a very vocal man who never met a stranger and was well spoken. He touched the lives of many with his warm personality and strong presence.  His interest in sports, especially football, led him to be an avid Houston Texas fan.

On Friday, January 30, 2026, Hubert found peace with God and gained his wings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Rogers Sr. and Zelma Rogers; his brother, Lorenza Rogers; his sisters, Virginia White, Loraine R. Brooks, and Baby Girl Rogers; two nieces, Martha R. Jones and Marlene Savoy Brown; three nephews, Gerald Brooks, Brian Keith Jones, and Kaderick Jones; and one grandson, Ryan Christopher Harris.

Hubert leaves to cherish his loving memories: his devoted wife, LeeAnna Rogers of Giddings, Texas; two daughters, Tammie Rogers of Houston, Texas, and Keisha Harris (Thomas) of Cedar Park, Texas; two sons, Joseph Zachary, Jr. (Angelica) of Giddings, Texas, and Christopher Zachary Rogers (Christy) of Buda, Texas; his bonus children, Desiray Jones, Dashayla Jones, and Greggory Jones, all of Giddings, Texas; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
